Co-Authoring is the process of collaborating with other users on the same document simultaneously. Instead of the traditional back-and-forth editing, Co-Authoring allows you to contribute, make edits, add comments, and shape the document together. With real-time collaboration, version control management, and efficient communication, Co-Authoring enhances your productivity and takes collaboration to new heights.

Keywords

  1. Co-Authoring: The feature where you can collaborate with multiple individuals on the same document simultaneously.

  2. Co-Authors: Individuals who are part of a collaborative project or working together on a document.

  3. Checked Out: The status of a document or file that is currently being actively edited or worked on.

  4. Version Control: Managing different versions of a document to avoid conflicts or confusion.

  5. Real-time: Immediate or instant, with changes reflected immediately as they occur.

1. Invite Co-Authors

When checking out on a document, simply select "Check-out and Edit online", you can now invite Co-Authors to collaborate on your document.

Note: Ensure that Co-authoring is enabled on the portfolio, please contact your Fibonacci Admin for assistance.

You have the freedom to select Co-Authors from any user who already has access to the document as a collaborator or owner.

2. Customise Permissions and Notifications

After selecting your co-authors, you can specify who will be allowed to check the document back in. Additionally, you have the option to enable or disable, or even customise the message on email notifications for Co-Authors when they are invited on a document.

3. Real-time Collaboration and Version Control

Whenever a co-author opens the document, it will be readily available to edit. All co-authors can collaborate together live and see these changes real-time. Meanwhile, other users who are not invited as Co-Authors will still have access to the document but it will appear as "checked out", maintaining a seamless and uninterrupted workflow.

In addition, our Co-Authoring incorporates version control. This means that you can easily access and revert to previous versions of the document, allowing you to review the changes over time. If needed, you can track the progression of the document and even restore earlier versions.

Conclusion

Start leveraging the power of co-authoring today, and experience the seamless teamwork it brings to your portfolios.
